Booktari was founded by two of the most successful and experienced SaaS software developers in the hospitality industry – Saeed Karim and Paul McGrath. With roots in the bed and breakfast industry, Booktari is rapidly expanding into the vacation rental management market with a solid foundation and skilled team of professionals.
Saeed Karim, Founder, CEO
Saeed is the founder and CEO of KaiTair LLC, the parent company of Booktari. With over 20 years of product development and software engineering experience, he is highly skilled in designing and developing SaaS solutions for the hospitality industry and has a very successful track record of bringing products from concept to delivery.
Prior to Booktari, Saeed was vice president of products at Pegasus Solutions responsible for travel reservations, financial services and distribution product sets that supported over 1 billion transactions per month from hospitality customers in nearly 200 countries.
Before that, Saeed was the CTO at SoftBrands which acquired Hotel Information Systems (H.I.S.), a leading global company in the Hospitality technology market place, where he was VP of Product Development and CTO. As CTO of H.I.S., Saeed white boarded the vision and strategy of hotel distribution, reservation and operations systems that achieved market penetration in over 60 countries and generated over $120M in revenues. Saeed served on the board of OpenTravel Alliance (opentravel.org), an organization that championed electronic interoperability amongst suppliers and distributors of travel. Prior to H.I.S., Saeed was VP of IT at USSearch.com, an internet B2C and B2B e-commerce company.
Saeed also held positions in market leading management firms Ernst & Young LLP, and BDO Seidman LLP.
Paul McGrath, Co-Founder, COO
Paul is the co-founder of KaiTair, dba Booktari. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in product management with specific expertise in SaaS solutions for the hospitality market. Paul is the former vice president of product management at Softbrands where he defined and supported the launch of products for independent hotels. Prior to that, Paul was the senior director of product management at Pegasus where he directed multiple teams that managed various service offerings, including a web booking engine and rate merchant model hotel business.
